Spiced Ginger & Elderberry Tea
Fall is (almost) officially here! I am already burning all of my yummy fall candles, making all things pumpkin, and enjoying the cooler nights. Something I love about Fall is snuggling up on the couch with a hot cup of tea, and watching a good movie! I drink tea pretty much every night once the temperature starts to cool down; it is something I look forward to daily.
However, the start of Fall means the start of cold season, which no one looks forward to. As someone with a particularly sensitive immune system, I am always getting a cold (currently typing with a sore throat)…and I don’t even have kids! When Sprouts approached me to create a delicious Fall-inspired wellness beverage, I instantly knew what I was going to do. Added bonus was the fact that the recipe was to include Nature’s Way Sambucus Elderberry Syrup, an item that lives in our fridge at all times.
Never heard of elderberry syrup? You’re not alone. It is known for its high antioxidant properties, as well as vitamins and minerals. Those vitamins and minerals help fend off icky Autumnal colds, and I’ve heard elderberry syrup is a great way to fight off the flu! Whenever I feel myself getting a scratchy throat, or I’m sneezing, I always take a teaspoon or two of elderberry syrup.
I really love Nature’s Way elderberry syrup! It tastes great (not too sweet, not too bitter), and contains no gluten, dairy, soy, nuts or artificial colors! Products with standards like these are what I’d expect from Sprouts! I choose to buy most of my supplements at Sprouts because they have a great selection of brands, products, as well as their own line for many items. Plus, they frequently run sales! Win win win!
I hope you make and enjoy this recipe this Fall & Winter season! As always, tag me (@thehealthmason) in any of your creations on Instagram!
