Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas

Crunchy Air Fryer Chickpeas

Meet your new favorite snack/salad topping! These little crispy guys are better than anything you can find in store (and are much cheaper!). I am always looking for creative ways to use my air fryer, and these are my new favorite thing to make! I've found that making crispy chickpeas in the oven is more difficult, however it is possible! These are just too quick and easy! Here's how you do it! Shop air fryers below!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of chickpeas (15.5oz, cooked chickpeas, drained & rinsed)

  • 1 tablespoon of avocado or olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • 1/2 tablespoon red wine vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder (optional, add for extra kick!)

Preparation

1.) Drain and rinse chickpeas, dry as well as possible. Place in mixing bowl.

2.) Add oil, maple syrup, vinegar and spices to mixing bowl, mix until chickpeas are well coated. Add chickpeas to air fryer (I split mine into two batches to avoid over-crowding and under-crisping).

3.) Set your air fryer to 400F, and fry the chickpeas for 15-20 minutes. Remove from air fryer and set aside to cool (they get crispier as they cool).

4.) Enjoy!
