Black Sesame Smoothie
Ok, I think it should be pretty clear by now that I am OBSESSED with smoothies. I have one almost every day, and truly enjoy coming up with fun creations. However, most smoothies get their flavor from a variety of fruits, which can REALLY up your sugar intake and cause an unnecessary sugar rush first thing in the morning. While this smoothie contains natural sugar, it is also balanced with healthy fats and protein. It is also somewhat savory and sweet thanks to the black sesame seeds. And sure, it isn't that gorgeous shade of pitaya pink or purple that we're used to seeing all over Instagram, I cant help but stare at this gorgeous smoothie porn. Enjoy!!
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp black sesame seeds (regular sesame seeds would work fine, but you wouldn't have that fabulous speckled color.)
- 1/4 avocado
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 tsp coconut oil or coconut butter
- 1/2 c dairy-free milk
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp vanilla bean powder or vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp honey (optional)
- 1 scoop of collagen peptides (optional)
Prep
Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender, and mix until well-incorporated. Serve in your favorite glass, and top with shredded coconut and freeze-dried raspberries
