A Terra Cotta Love Affair
I’ve recently fallen in love with myrtle topiaries. I think they look stunning all lined up in a window, and I love that they bring a bit of greenery into the home There is something so elegant about a myrtle topiary in a beautiful terra cotta pot, which I think adds to their appeal. While you can easily pick up a terra cotta pot from your local hardware store, these types of pots don’t have that gorgeous aged look right off the bat (although leave your pots outdoors for a year like I’ve done, and they’ll definitely develop that distinct aged look with time). I think part of the beauty of topiaries is having them in mossy or almost moldy-looking pots. Sounds weird, but I love the look. They can definitely be a bit of an investment, but you can enjoy them for years to come if taken care of properly. Below are some of my favorite sources for terra cotta and other artisan pottery.
Bergs Potter
If you are local to Baltimore, it looks like B. Willow and Greenfields Nursery carry Bergs products. Check out their store locator here to find a store near you!
Wakefield Handmade
There used to be a greater selection of Wakefield pieces on Afloral, but they seem to have sold out. Check back on their site for restocks.
Campo de Fiori
There aren’t any retailers online that I can link to besides the Campo de Fiori site directly, but if you are local to Baltimore, Simply Beautiful carries their gorgeous terra cotta pots (pictured above in this post).
Afloral
A few of my terra cotta pieces are from Afloral. They have a great selection of pots, planters and vases.
Terrain
To know Terrain is to love it, and they have no short supply of terra cotta options for you to enjoy (many of which are linked in this post).
Etsy
Etsy is another great option for finding beautiful aged terra cotta pots. I selected a few below that are particularly beautiful, in my opinion!
