Natural (And Reef-Safe) Sunscreen Roundup
Do you wear sunscreen daily?? If not, you should. I try to stick with natural sunscreens, but understand it can be hard to find the perfect one! I’ve done the hard work for you, and have tested a BUNCH of sunscreen options! I hope one of these works for your skin type! If I forgot any great natural options, let me know in the comments below!
CLEAN SPF: I must say, this is my most favorite natural sunscreen to date. Sorry for the spoiler alert here, but it truly is a wonderful product. CLEAN SPF currently offers two sunscreen products, a body SPF and tinted face SPF. The body version is what you’d expect from a zinc-based sunscreen, except it actually rubs in. Give it a minute or two to soak into the skin, but you wont be white and pasty like you would with other zinc sunscreens. I absolutely adore the face SPF. It has a light peachy tint, that seemingly evens your skin tone (it doesn’t provide much coverage, which I am fine with!). Best of all it basically dissolves into the skin and becomes smooth and silky. Zero stickiness. Neither product has a fragrance, which preferred for me! Highly highly recommend CLEAN SPF. 100% worth it.
Supergoop Superscreen Daily Moisturizer: I have been using this sunscreen daily and have been LOVING it. It goes on light, doesn’t leave any shiny residue or color, and doesn’t cause breakouts. Plus, it protects you against pollution and blue light from our phone and computer screens.
Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer: I purchased this sunblock last summer when so many people were raving about it on the ‘gram. While it works and is effective, the fragrance was too strong for me, and it definitely went on thick. If you aren’t bothered by fragrance or a prefer a thicker SPF, you’ll probably like this. I just found it to be too tacky on my skin. The packaging, however, is gorgeous. It’ll definitely look good on your vanity.
Coola Classic Sunscreen: I’ve been using Coola sunscreens for SO LONG. Literally years. They were my gateway into the natural sunblock world, and they’ve stuck around for good reason. First of all, their products smell heavenly. Coola offers a variety of products and sunscreen applications (creams, sprays, mists, sticks, etc.), but their classic sunscreen is my go-to. I love the cucumber scent. It rubs into the skin beautifully and is smooth and silky. This brand is sold at Target, making it a great choice for someone new to the natural SPF world.
Coola Mineral Sport Stick: This sport stick is so interesting. I was intrigued because I love stick sunscreens (for lips). I wanted to try this out and while the application method might not be for everyone, it is a quick way to apply sunblock to your face on the beach (without your hands getting sandy).
Sunbum: Sunbum is one of my all time favorite sunscreens! Not only does it smell INCREDIBLE (think coconutty heaven!), but it is a great reef-safe sunscreen, with a TON of product options. Sunbum makes safe-sun hair products, childrens products, body and face SPFs and much more! It is my go-to body sunscreen because I LOVE the smell so much!
Bare Republic Mineral Sunscreen Stick Sport: Fun fact, I am a white zinc lover. I always wear this on my lips and to cover any suspicious freckles/moles when I’m in the sun. It lasts for ages before reapplying, and since Bare Republic and Coola are the same company, you know the products are good.
