Do It Yourself! Non-Toxic All-Purpose Cleaner
Over the past few years, I've made a conscious effort to reduce the chemical-filled products we bring into our home. One of the easiest swaps was getting rid of my old household cleaner, and making my own! Non-toxic of course! Plus, the mix smells so good with the help of your favorite essential oils. Essential oils like lemon, tea tree and sweet orange are great to use for cleaners because they are naturally anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, and can help reduce dirt and grime. It's an added bonus that they smell great!
I especially like to use non-toxic cleaners on the kitchen counters, tables and in the fridge, since those surfaces come in contact with or are close to food! Definitely don’t want to be spraying toxic chemicals near the food you’re going to eat!
Here are some of my favorite essential oils to use, and why they’re so great for cleaning!
Lemon: Known for it’s antiviral and grease-cutting properties, lemon essential oil is great to use for the kitchen!
Tea Tree: One of my personal favorites because it is antimicrobial, antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral! An oil powerhouse!
Rosemary: Known for it’s antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
Orange: Great for cutting grease and grime!
Thyme: Kills germs quick!
